We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our UK & Ireland sales team. You will be responsible for generating revenue by finding and closing software subscription sales of assigned new business opportunities for Trimble’s AECO portfolio - Tekla, MEP, and ProjectSight. Success in this position requires the ability to travel, prospect for new business, qualify, research and discovery, prepare and present customised ROI company overviews and product demonstrations, handle contract negotiations, and close new deals.
What You Will Do:
- Sell the AECO portfolio - Tekla Solutions (integrated Analysis & Design and Building Information Modelling (BIM) services and solutions for the Structural Design & Detailing industry), MEP Solutions (leading provider of integrated Building Information Modelling (BIM) services and solutions for the MEP industry) and ProjectSight (Put digital project management in the hands of every construction professional. Scale effortlessly from standard site management through to total project control).
- Tracking of sales opportunities and establishing a qualified pipeline and accurate forecasting of new bookings based on our sales process.
- Carry out customer presentations, creation of proposals, product demonstrations, and closing business.
- Work closely with the technical pre-sales team to agree and execute individual plans to land new customers.
- Attend regular site meetings at other Trimble offices, customer premises and exhibitions as required.
- Co-ordinate involvement of Sales Development, Sales Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, Legal, IT Engineering and Professional Services teams as required.
- Achieve key performance indicators as set out by the sales management team.
- Provide an accurate sales forecast for a month and quarter period when requested by the Sales Manager.
- Develop strong understanding of industry trends and the competitive landscape, with the ability to position our solutions effectively against competitors and clearly articulate areas of differentiation and value.
- Networking with related businesses, partners, industry associations fostering B2B relationships.
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring:
- You have a good understanding of the UK construction sector, and experience of working with companies from £2.5m-£100m turnover.
- You’ll have a proven track record in selling software solutions within the construction industry and ideally within the Structural, Civil & MEP Engineering & Design markets.
- Proven track record of New Business Development with experience in selling technology solutions (SaaS) into the construction sector, e.g. consultants and/or contractors.
- Experience of working in a highly competitive environment, with the ability to manage both rapid sales cycles (under 30 days) and more complex, longer term opportunities (3-6 months).
- Experience of sales methodologies, e.g. MEDDPICC and the effective use of CRM system, preferably Salesforce.
- Fluent communication, presentations and negotiation skills in English.
- Sales pipeline management and forecasting.
- Organised and methodical approach to work.
- Motivated self-starter and team player with ability to take ownership.
- Ability and expectation to travel, at least 20%.
