Role Summary
Work in the Glasgow warehouse as a Forklift Driver undertaking all duties including loading / offloading of all vehicles and adhering to all safe practices. Ensure the segregation of cargo. Process all paperwork for deliveries. Book in all freight. Drive Company vehicles in a safe manner when required to do so and adhere to all relevant legislation / rules in relation to the loads being transported.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Load and offload in line with the company code of practice and use appropriate equipment.
- Maintain security of load while loading, transporting and delivering.
- Comply with various legislations regarding vehicle safety.
- Locate cargo safely and accurately in warehouse racking and bay system.
- Load and unload vehicles arriving at the warehouse ensuring loads are evenly distributed and safely secured and labelled correctly.
- Ensure all cargo discrepancies are correctly identified, recorded and notified to the Depot Manager or Warehouse Manager.
- Completion of records for goods received and dispatched through the warehouse.
- Ensure Company plant and equipment are used correctly and safely.
- Check tyres, brakes, lights, oil, water and fuel levels and general condition of any forklifts / vans driven during the shift.
- Ensuring that the warehouse area is kept clean and tidy.
- Process all paperwork accurately.
- Booking in all freight accurately.
- Segregate cargo as required.
- Carry out deliveries / collections within central Scotland.
- Training in x ray machine screening to be undertaken to support the depot when required.
Experience & Qualifications
- Geographical knowledge of central Scotland roads.
- Good working knowledge of manual loading / unloading and securing freight.
- At least 2 years working experience in a warehouse environment.
- At least 2 years’ experience of using a counterbalance forklift truck.
- Forklift Licence essential for this role.
- To undertake Cargo Operative training (supplied by Trilogy Logistics) upon successful completion of vetting process.
- An understanding of Health & Safety, Site Security awareness and Data Protection.
- Knowledge of airfreight.
- Sound knowledge of Highway Code and speed limits for size of vehicle / type of road.
Unacceptable endorsements
Drink or drugs related endorsements within the past 10 years / any disqualifications in the past 5 years / any codes on licence with prefix: IN CD, DD, DR, and BA.
Training
Training will be provided for CAA Aviation Security protocols and legislation requirements. Training will be provided in all administration and working practices requirements for Trilogy Logistics.
Contract Type
Permanent.
Shift & Working Days / Hours / Breaks
Monday to Friday. Week 1 = 06:00am – 16:00pm. Week 2 = 11:00am – 21:00pm. 45 contractual working hours per week with a 1-hour unpaid break daily.
