Network Engineer (Remote) | 12 Month Contract | Inside IR35 Our client (Financial Services) is looking to hire an experienced Network Engineer to help them on a 12-month initial contract, to begin mid-January 2025. This role is remote working – there may be some occasional need to visit site, but this will be on an ad-hoc basis. You will be helping with the management of network infrastructure to ensure security, availability, recoverability, performance, integrity, and supportability across key network platforms such as Cisco; Palo Alto and F5 Responsibilities: Maintain network infrastructure by supporting day-to-day building, maintaining, and monitoring of networks for all environments Monitors network performance to identify areas of concern or and formulates and implements infrastructure improvements Assesses network security to ensure effective network safeguard processes are in place and operational networks are running effectively for hosted production systems Ensuring consistency across cross-technology domains Technical Skills: Knowledge of the following protocols – IPSEC, OSPF, BGP, STP, PVST, RPVST, HSRP, MPLS, VPN, TCP/IP, SSL Ideally an industry-recognised accreditation (CCNP preferred) Understanding of IP networks and TCP/IP technologies (DNS, SNMP etc.) Cisco and Palo Alto firewall experience F5 load-balancer experience Network Management tools experience Netflow Management Syslog Management Security and encryption technologies Infrastructure & Network awareness – Advanced Previous experience implementing large scale data centre, infrastructure and platform solutions Agile methodology awareness (Scrum/Kanban) This role is operating inside IR35 with a budget up circa £400 per day
