An exciting new vacancy has arisen within the Elland facility for an Assistant Management Accountant. Trillium Flow Technologies is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team based at our Elland site. This is a great opportunity for a driven and developing finance professional to gain broad exposure to management accounting in a complex manufacturing environment, while supporting key financial control, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
Reporting into the Management Accountant and working closely with the Financial Controller, this role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial information, strong cost control, and continuous improvement across the UK Valves business.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver accurate daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting, including sales order book, recoveries, order intake, and gross margin analysis.
- Support the month-end close process, including accruals, prepayments, journal postings, balance sheet reconciliations, and SAP period maintenance.
- Produce overhead variance analysis by cost centre and provide insight and commentary to support senior management decision-making.
- Submit monthly financial results, budgets, and forecasts to Group via Cognos, ensuring consistency and data integrity.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasts through collaboration with key business stakeholders.
- Maintain budget, forecast, and actual cost data, and provide year-on-year and actual versus forecast analysis.
- Assist with cost control and financial diligence, including updating material costs and reviewing contract margins to identify risks and opportunities.
- Provide transactional finance support where required, including purchase ledger processing, GRNI review, cash posting, and daily bank reconciliations.
- Support continuous improvement within finance processes, systems, and controls.
- Ensure all activities are completed in line with Health & Safety requirements and duty of care standards.
- AAT qualified or nearing completion, or significant experience in a management accounting role.
- Actively studying or aspiring to study a professional accountancy qualification (CIMA or ACCA preferred).
- Finance-related degree desirable.
- Strong understanding of management accounting principles and financial controls.
- Experience using SAP and reporting tools such as Cognos is advantageous.
- Highly organised with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Confident communicator, able to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
- Proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality financial information.
