Role Overview
We are recruiting a creative and passionate Music Tutor to deliver high-quality music education within a custodial environment at HMYOI Werrington. As a Music Tutor, you will design and deliver engaging learning programmes that inspire, challenge and develop learners through music, performance and collaborative creative activities. You will help learners build confidence, resilience and positive behaviours while supporting them to develop new skills and achieve meaningful outcomes. Working as part of the Education, Skills & Work team, you will contribute to a safe, purposeful and rehabilitative learning environment, embedding literacy, numeracy and personal development within music-based learning. - Plan and deliver engaging music lessons and creative learning activities

Essential Criteria
- Strong vocational background in Music, Music Performance, Music Production or a related discipline
- Experience delivering music education, training, workshops or learner-focused activities
- Ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to plan and deliver creative, inclusive learning sessions
- Understanding of safeguarding and learner welfare
- Strong organisational and classroom management skills
Desirable Criteria
- Teaching qualification (AET, PTLLS, Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent)
- Experience working within custodial, alternative education or youth settings
- Experience delivering accredited music qualifications
- Knowledge of restorative practice approaches
- Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs
