Trigon Recruitment is looking for an Accommodation Support Officer to join a fantastic team in HMP Altcourse to make a meaningful difference every day. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting individuals to overcome barriers, achieve stability, and build independent futures. You will work with adult males in custody, delivering tailored accommodation support to help individuals successfully transition back into the community. Working closely with probation practitioners and partner agencies, you will manage a caseload of participants, assess individual needs, and develop personalised accommodation plans. You will provide practical guidance, structured interventions, and ongoing support to help participants secure and sustain suitable housing. This role would suit candidates from a range of backgrounds including social care, mental health, housing, education, criminal justice, support work, or graduates looking to gain valuable frontline experience. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of participants and deliver personalised accommodation support plans
- Conduct initial assessments, taking into account risk, support needs, and individual circumstances
- Support participants to access suitable accommodation and related services
- Monitor participant progress and identify any emerging risks or concerns
- Maintain accurate and timely case records and documentation
- Build effective working relationships with probation services and external partner agencies
- Provide guidance on housing rights, responsibilities, and available support pathways
Skills & Experience:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive and professional working relationships
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
