Location: Airdrie, Scotland

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 (1-hour lunch break)

Overtime: 1.5x hourly rate Monday to Saturday, 2x hourly rate Sundays and Bank Holidays

Role Overview: We are recruiting a reliable and hardworking Multiskilled Technician with HGV to join a busy operational team based in Airdrie. As a Multiskilled Technician with HGV, you will play a key role in delivering a range of environmental, industrial and infrastructure support services. This is a varied, hands-on position where no two days are the same, combining HGV driving with practical site-based activities including tanker operations, high-pressure water jetting, environmental clean-ups, industrial services and general groundworks. The successful Multiskilled Technician with HGV will enjoy working outdoors, be comfortable operating specialist equipment, and take pride in delivering a safe, professional and customer-focused service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Service Delivery
    • Operate tanker vehicles and specialist environmental equipment
    • Carry out high-pressure water jetting and industrial cleaning activities
    • Support environmental incident response and clean-up operations
    • Assist with spill response, fly-tip removal and environmental remediation works
    • Support civil engineering, industrial services and groundworks projects
    • Work safely and efficiently across a variety of sites and environments
  • HGV Driving & Vehicle Operations
    • Operate company vehicles, including HGVs, in line with licence and competency requirements
    • Complete daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
    • Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition
    • Comply with company transport policies and road traffic legislation
    • Support loading, unloading and transportation of equipment and materials
  • Health, Safety & Compliance
    • Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures
    • Work in accordance with RAMS and safe systems of work
    • Maintain accurate paperwork, reports and job documentation
    • Ensure the highest standards of professionalism, safety and customer service
    • Promote a positive safety culture on all sites
  • Customer Service & Teamwork
    • Liaise professionally with customers and site representatives
    • Support colleagues across operational teams and projects
    • Participate in emergency response and call-out activities
    • Travel and stay away from home when operational requirements demand
    • Contribute to a flexible and collaborative team environment

Essential Criteria

  • Full UK driving licence
  • HGV licence and relevant driving experience
  • Practical, hands-on approach to work
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Flexible attitude towards working hours and operational requirements
  • Ability to travel and stay away from home at short notice when required
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards
