Job Summary
Trigon Recruitment are proud to be supporting a leading National Charitable Organisation, a leading provider of youth and employment services, in recruiting a NEET Employment Advisor (Youth Careers Advisor) to work with care leavers aged 1621 across Harrow.
This role is dedicated to supporting young people with complex needs and barriers to employment and education. You will provide mentoring, coaching, and tailored careers advice to help participants move into positive outcomes such as jobs, education, accredited training, or work experience.
Working within the community, you will hold a manageable caseload of 25 and play a vital role in ensuring that care leavers receive holistic, person-centred support that sets them up for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Youth Support
- Manage a caseload of 25 young people aged 1621 who have left care.
- Deliver one-to-one mentoring, coaching, and careers advice to support participants progression.
- Conduct holistic assessments and create personalised action plans.
- Provide guidance on CVs, applications, interviews, and employability skills.
- Signpost and refer participants to specialist services, training, and wider programmes where appropriate.
Community Engagement
- Deliver support sessions within the community, adapting to the needs of participants.
- Build strong relationships with local training providers, education institutions, and employers.
- Identify opportunities for participants to access accredited training, work placements, and volunteering opportunities.
Progression & Outcomes
- Support participants to achieve sustainable job starts, education enrolments, or training outcomes.
- Track progress and maintain accurate, compliant case records.
- Promote independence and resilience in young people, ensuring long-term progression beyond the programme.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Experience working with young people, ideally those with complex needs.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust quickly with care leavers.
- Experience of mentoring, coaching, or careers advice.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Understanding of the barriers faced by care leavers entering education or employment.
- Ability to work flexibly and independently within a community setting.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working directly with care leavers.
- Knowledge of local services and opportunities for young people in Harrow.
- Careers guidance or youth work qualifications.
Additional Information
- Fixed term contract until October 2026.
