About the Role
We are seeking a Supported Employment Team Leader to provide strong, visible leadership to a team of Employment Specialists delivering IPS and Supported Employment services across the West Midlands. This is a hands-on leadership role with clear accountability for team performance, service quality, employment outcomes, and fidelity to the IPS model. You will coach, mentor, and develop staff while ensuring services are fully embedded within local health, community, and employment systems. You will play a key role in driving employer engagement, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring participants receive high-quality, person-centred employment support that leads to sustained paid work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of Supported Employment / IPS Employment Specialists
- Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and field-based mentoring
- Drive performance against KPIs, employment outcomes, and IPS fidelity standards
- Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across the team and contract area
- Address underperformance through effective performance management
- Embed Supported Employment services within local health, primary care, and community networks
- Oversee employer engagement activity and support the team to secure sustainable job opportunities
- Ensure safeguarding, data protection, and information governance standards are met
- Spend the majority of working time in the community supporting staff and partners
What We're Looking For
- Essential Experience leading or supervising Supported Employment or IPS teams
- Strong understanding of the IPS / Supported Employment model and evidence-based practice
- Proven ability to manage performance, quality, and targets
- Experience of coaching, mentoring, and developing staff
- Strong partnership working skills across health, social care, and employment sectors
- Excellent communication, organisation, and IT skills
- Understanding of barriers to work, particularly relating to mental health
Desirable
- Experience working with people with mental health needs or other disadvantaged groups
- Employer engagement experience with positive employment outcomes
- Mental Health First Aid qualification (or willingness to complete)
- Formal IPS / Supported Employment training
