Role & Client Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for an English Teacher to join our clients team, based on-site at HMP The Mount. In this role, you will deliver Higher-Level English tutoring, working with small groups of learners within the prison to help develop their skills, knowledge, and behaviours. You will support learners in achieving their long-term goals and aspirations, ensuring that appropriate training plans, advice, and guidance are in place. Our tutors are passionate about delivering high-quality, engaging courses that help learners reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Higher-Level English tutoring to small groups of learners.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
- Ensure training plans are in place and provide guidance and support when required.
- Monitor learner progress and provide regular feedback.
- Use a range of teaching methods to support different learning styles.
- Maintain accurate records of learner achievements and assessments.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality courses that meet awarding body and quality standards.
Essential/Desirable Criteria:
Essential:
- Level 3 English qualification (or equivalent).
- Significant experience in delivering English training.
- Strong ability to use a variety of teaching methods to engage learners.
Desirable:
- A teaching or assessing qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Experience delivering training in prison education or similar environments.
(If you do not currently hold a teaching or assessing qualification, support will be provided to achieve this as part of your probationary period.)
