Role Overview
We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Adult Social Care Tutor / Assessor to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Adult Social Care qualifications up to Level 5. This hybrid role combines remote delivery with face-to-face learner support, requiring travel across the South West region. As an Adult Social Care Tutor / Assessor, you will support learners throughout their qualification journey, ensuring they develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to succeed within the adult social care sector. The role is ideal for either a qualified assessor or an experienced care professional looking to transition into training, with full support available to achieve relevant teaching and assessing qualifications where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and assess Adult Social Care qualifications up to Level 5
- Plan and deliver engaging sessions using blended learning methods
- Adapt delivery to meet individual learner needs and abilities
- Support learners to develop sector-specific knowledge, skills and behaviours
- Carry out initial assessments and develop individual learning plans
- Provide regular feedback, coaching and guidance to support progress
- Motivate learners to achieve timely completion of their qualifications
- Support learners in applying learning directly to their workplace
- Maintain accurate learner records and e-portfolio documentation
- Ensure delivery meets awarding body and compliance standards
- Prepare for and contribute to quality assurance activities
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all learning
- Deliver a mix of remote (Teams) and face-to-face sessions
- Conduct regular learner visits (typically 2-3 per programme depending on location)
- Travel across the South West region as required
Essential Criteria
- Recognised teaching or assessing qualification (e.g. TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent)
- Level 3 or above qualification in Adult Social Care
- Experience delivering or assessing Adult Social Care qualifications
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a learner caseload
- Confident using digital platforms including Teams and e-portfolio systems
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable Criteria
- Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification
- Experience delivering Adult Social Care qualifications up to Level 5
- Experience working within adult social care settings
- Experience delivering in a blended or hybrid learning environment
Development Opportunity
Candidates with strong occupational experience but no assessing qualification will be supported to achieve:
- Assessor qualification
- IQA qualification (where applicable)
Salary progression available on completion of qualifications.
