Role Overview:
We are recruiting a Personal and Social Development (PSD) Tutor to deliver high-quality short courses to prison-based learners at HMP Stocken. You will work with small groups, supporting them to develop essential life skills, improve their confidence, and work towards achieving their long-term goals and aspirations.
As a Tutor, you will create engaging and supportive learning environments, develop appropriate training plans, and provide ongoing advice and guidance to ensure all learners are fully supported throughout their journey. You will play a key role in helping individuals reach their potential and progress successfully.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality PSD short courses to small groups of learners.
- Plan and deliver engaging sessions using a variety of training methods.
- Develop and maintain individual training plans to support learner progression.
- Provide advice, guidance and pastoral support where required.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that enables learners to achieve.
- Ensure all delivery meets quality standards and organisational expectations.
- Support learners with their personal development, behaviour and attitudes.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all necessary documentation.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and prison staff to support learner needs.
Essential:
- A Level 2 vocational qualification.
- Strong vocational experience within your specialist field.
- Experience delivering vocational-based training.
- Ability to use a wide range of delivery methods to engage diverse learners.
Desirable:
- A teaching or assessing qualification (e.g., AET, PTLLS, TAQA).
- Experience working within custodial or SEND environments (advantageous).
