Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and relationship-driven IPS Team Leader to oversee the delivery of high-quality Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services across Daventry. You will lead a team of Employment Specialists, ensuring the service provides intensive, personalised employment support to people facing complex barriers including disabilities, autism, learning difficulties, mental health challenges and disadvantage. This role combines team leadership, performance management, partnership development, employer engagement and direct client work. You will champion IPS fidelity, drive high-quality practice, and support your team to achieve life-changing employment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Service Quality
- Lead, coach and supervise a team of IPS Employment Specialists, ensuring high performance and adherence to IPS fidelity standards.
- Provide regular 1:1 supervision, reflective practice sessions and strengths-based coaching.
- Hold a small caseload to model best practice and maintain service credibility.
- Oversee referrals, caseload flow and allocation of participants across the team.
- Monitor team performance, analyse data and take action to improve outcomes.
- Support continuous improvement and contribute to service development.
- Ensure all delivery meets safeguarding, equality, diversity and health & safety requirements.
- Conduct vocational profiling and develop personalised action plans aligned to client aspirations.
- Support job search, CV development, applications, interview preparation and career planning.
- Provide in-work support including coaching, skills development and workplace guidance.
- Help clients sustain employment through early-job check-ins and long-term follow-up.
- Support individuals at risk of job loss due to ill health, helping them maintain employment.
- Provide practical support including travel planning, benefits guidance, budgeting and disclosure support.
- Build strong, proactive relationships with local employers.
- Source suitable vacancies and negotiate opportunities aligned to participant strengths.
- Promote inclusive recruitment, reasonable adjustments and job carving strategies.
- Maintain ongoing employer contact to support job retention and resolve workplace challenges.
- Champion equality, diversity and inclusive employment practices.
Essential Criteria
- Driver with access to vehicle
- Experience supervising, coaching or leading staff in employability, health, social care or similar settings.
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, autism, mental health conditions or complex needs.
- Experience in employability, job coaching or careers guidance.
- Strong employer engagement experience.
- Evidence of performance-driven practice and target achievement.
- Knowledge of IPS or supported employment principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and motivational interviewing skills.
- Ability to analyse performance data and take action.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable Criteria
- Supported Employment, IPS or Job Coaching qualification.
- Understanding of IPS/SEQF fidelity models.
- Level 3 IAG, Employability or relevant qualification in psychology, health or social care.
- Experience delivering reflective practice or strengths-based supervision.
- Knowledge of welfare benefits, employment legislation and inclusive recruitment.
- Understanding of local labour market trends and employer needs.
