Trigon Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading National Training Provider, rated Good (Grade 2) by Ofsted. We are seeking a passionate, engaging and motivational Employability Tutor to deliver an employability programme to young people aged 18–24 in Newton Abbot, Cornwall. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced trainer, tutor or employability professional who is passionate about supporting young people to develop the confidence, skills and knowledge required to progress towards sustainable employment.
You will deliver engaging employability workshops alongside tailored one-to-one support, helping learners develop practical job-search skills, digital confidence and the tools they need to successfully navigate the workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, non-accredited employability and digital skills training to groups of learners aged 18–24.
- Provide basic IT and digital support, including setting up email accounts, navigating online platforms, uploading documents and completing online applications.
- Support learners with CV writing, cover letters, job applications and interview preparation.
- Motivate and encourage learners to actively search and apply for suitable employment opportunities.
- Deliver a combination of group workshops and individual 1:1 coaching sessions to support learner development and progression.
- Build positive relationships with learners and provide appropriate guidance, encouragement and pastoral support.
- Set achievable learner goals and accurately record progress using the company database.
- Identify barriers to employment and support learners to develop practical strategies to overcome them.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive and positive learning environment that encourages participation, confidence and personal development.
- Monitor learner engagement, attendance and progression throughout the programme.
- Complete all learner administration and documentation in line with company procedures and quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to maximise positive learner outcomes.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience delivering employability, adult learning, youth provision or vocational training.
- Experience supporting young people aged 18–24 would be highly advantageous.
- Strong IT and digital skills, with the confidence to teach learners basic digital skills.
- Experience supporting individuals with CV writing, job searching and interview techniques.
- Ability to engage and motivate learners from a variety of backgrounds and ability levels.
- Comfortable delivering both group workshops and one-to-one coaching.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Well organised, target-focused and able to effectively manage learner progression.
- A patient, supportive and motivational approach to working with young people.
- A genuine passion for helping individuals build confidence and achieve positive employment outcomes.
- Ability to commit to the programme from 14th September 2026 through to the end of February 2027.
