We are seeking an enthusiastic, supportive and learner-focused

Mental Health & Employability Tutor to deliver high-quality learning, employability and development support to adult learners across

Wigan, Ashton and Leigh .

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tutor, trainer, employability professional or support specialist who is passionate about helping individuals experiencing mental health barriers to build confidence, develop practical skills and progress towards education, training or sustainable employment.

You will deliver a combination of engaging group sessions and one-to-one support, taking a person-centred approach to help learners understand and overcome barriers to progression.

You will support learners to develop their confidence, communication, digital and employability skills while creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

As an ongoing sessional position, there is potential for continued work and further delivery opportunities for successful tutors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive and accessible learning sessions tailored to the needs of adult learners experiencing mental health barriers.
  • Develop and adapt teaching methods, resources and activities to accommodate different learning needs, abilities and circumstances.
  • Deliver group workshops covering areas such as confidence building, wellbeing, communication, employability, digital skills and preparation for the workplace.
  • Provide personalised one-to-one coaching, mentoring and support based on individual learner needs and goals.
  • Help learners identify and overcome barriers relating to confidence, wellbeing, learning and employment.
  • Support learners to develop practical strategies for managing barriers and building resilience in preparation for progression.
  • Encourage learners to recognise their strengths, develop self-confidence and build greater independence.
  • Support learners with CV development, job searching, job applications and interview preparation.
  • Provide practical digital skills support, including navigating online platforms, email, job-search websites and online applications.
  • Help learners identify suitable employment opportunities and encourage them to take proactive steps towards securing work.
  • Set realistic and achievable goals with learners and monitor progress throughout their learning journey.
  • Create a safe, welcoming and supportive learning environment that promotes inclusion, participation and achievement.
  • Identify where learners may benefit from additional support, reasonable adjustments or signposting to appropriate services.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and follow organisational procedures when supporting learners with mental health-related barriers.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and ensure all required documentation is completed in line with organisational and contractual requirements.
  • Record learner progress, activities and outcomes accurately on the organisation s database.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to ensure learners receive appropriate support, guidance and progression opportunities.
  • Travel between delivery locations across

Wigan, Ashton and Leigh as required.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience delivering mental health, employability, adult learning or skills-based training .
  • Strong understanding of the barriers that individuals experiencing mental health difficulties may face in education, training and employment.
  • Experience supporting individuals with diverse needs and barriers to progression.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches, resources and activities to meet individual learner needs.
  • Experience delivering engaging group learning sessions.
  • Confidence providing one-to-one coaching, mentoring or personalised learner support.
  • Strong IT and digital skills, with the ability to support learners with basic digital tasks.
  • Experience supporting learners with confidence building, employability skills, job searching or progression.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive, trusting and professional relationships with learners.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records.
  • A patient, empathetic and non-judgemental approach to supporting learners.
  • Understanding of professional boundaries, safeguarding and appropriate signposting.
  • A genuine passion for helping individuals overcome barriers and progress towards sustainable employment.
  • Flexibility to travel across

Wigan, Ashton and Leigh as required.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health difficulties or other significant barriers to employment.
  • Experience within adult education, employability, vocational training, health and wellbeing or community-based support.
  • Experience delivering personalised learning plans or individualised support.
  • Relevant teaching, training, coaching, mentoring, mental health or counselling qualification.
  • Understanding of reasonable adjustments and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience supporting individuals towards sustainable employment.
  • Knowledge of local support, wellbeing and employability services.
