Role Overview
Trigon Recruitment are representing a national training provider delivering a wide range of contracts for the DWP and ESFA. They are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Advisor to support individuals in moving closer to, or into, the labour market. This is a rewarding, flexible role combining both remote and community-based delivery. Travel across Bath, Bristol, and Somerset is required, therefore a driver or willingness to travel is essential.
Job Summary
As a Mental Health Advisor, you will support participants referred to the programme through structured, one-to-one interventions. The provision runs in 12-week cycles, consisting of:
- 10 weeks of virtual support
- 2 weeks of face-to-face delivery
You will deliver two one-hour sessions per week, focusing on identifying how mental health and related challenges impact participants' daily lives, wellbeing, and employability. Working collaboratively, you will develop tailored action plans with SMART targets to help individuals overcome barriers. Success in the role will be measured by participants progressing against and completing their action plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one support sessions (virtual and face-to-face)
- Assess the impact of mental health and related barriers on employability
- Develop and review personalised action plans with SMART objectives
- Support individuals with challenges including mental health, substance misuse, and employability
- Build strong rapport and maintain a person-centred approach
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the company database
- Monitor, review, and document participant progress
- Liaise with referral partners and keep them informed of progress
- Signpost participants to relevant local services and support networks
Ideal Candidate
- Based locally with a good understanding of Bath, Bristol, and Somerset
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions
- Knowledge of common mental health barriers to employment
- Awareness of local support services and referral pathways
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Empathetic, supportive, and non-judgmental approach
- Ability to develop and manage structured action plans
- Good understanding of employability support
- Experience working in a one-to-one support setting
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle and willingness to travel across the region
- Ability to deliver both remote and face-to-face support
