Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Vocational Tutor to deliver high‑quality training across a range of employability and sector‑based programmes throughout Sussex, Surrey and Kent. This role involves delivering accredited and non‑accredited training to adult learners across the ASF/Bootcamps provision, focusing on key vocational areas including Employability, Business Administration, Customer Service, and Level 1 Preparing to Work in Schools. Working across multiple delivery sites, you will design engaging sessions, support diverse learners, track progress, and help individuals develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to progress into employment, further training or sector‑specific roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality, engaging training across Employability, Business Admin, Customer Service and Preparing to Work in Schools (Level 1).
- Adapt delivery to suit learner needs, learning styles and programme requirements.
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work and learning materials aligned to programme outcomes.
- Conduct initial assessments and identify learning needs, barriers and support requirements.
- Assess learner work, provide constructive feedback and track progress accurately.
- Ensure timely achievement of qualifications and progression milestones.
Learner Support & Engagement
- Build a positive, inclusive and motivating learning environment.
- Support learners to develop confidence, transferable skills and clear career aspirations.
- Provide information, advice and guidance where required.
- Maintain strong relationships with learners to encourage attendance, engagement and progression.
Quality, Compliance & Programme Delivery
- Deliver programmes in line with funding requirements, awarding‑body standards and quality frameworks.
- Maintain accurate learner records, portfolios, paperwork and compliance documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of curriculum content and delivery materials.
- Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity and health & safety at all times.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, employers and referral partners.
Essential Criteria
- Experience delivering classroom‑based or vocational training.
- Strong background in at least one of the following: Employability, Business Admin, Customer Service or Preparing to Work in Schools.
- Ability to engage and motivate adult learners using varied teaching strategies.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel across Sussex, Surrey and Kent (peripatetic delivery).
- Confidence delivering both accredited and non‑accredited learning.
Desirable Criteria
- Teaching or assessing qualification (e.g., AET, PTLLS, CAVA).
- Experience delivering ASF/Bootcamp programmes.
- Experience working with unemployed adults or adult‑community learning.
- Experience supporting learners with barriers to employment or education.
