We are seeking a committed and experienced Quality Assistant Manager to support the effective leadership and development of highâquality education provision at HMP Stocken.
Working as part of the senior management team, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of a highâquality learner experience, driving continuous improvement, maximising contract performance and supporting the development of an engaging, industryârelevant curriculum.
You will take the lead on quality assurance and improvement within your curriculum area, support tutors to raise standards, and ensure teaching and learning meets regulatory, organisational and inspection requirements. You will also deputise for the Education Manager when required, providing operational and strategic support across the department.
- Curriculum & Quality Leadership:
- Lead quality assurance and quality improvement within the vocational and academic curriculum.
- Drive the Quality Cycle across the education department, ensuring strong practice and consistent standards.
- Produce detailed quality reports and action plans, and provide clear, developmental feedback to staff.
- Support the development of a standardised curriculum aligned to learner needs, employer demand and inspection frameworks.
- Operational Management & Team Leadership:
- Support the Education Manager with dayâtoâday operational management across the department.
- Provide supportive, persuasive leadership to tutors and support staff, fostering a highâachievement culture.
- Lead on target setting and performance monitoring processes.
- Conduct probation reviews, appraisals and professional development activities using organisational procedures.
- Support, coach and mentor new and existing teaching staff to develop and improve practice.
Build and maintain positive internal and external partnerships to support learner progression. Contribute to meetings, sharing key information with staff and supporting collaborative working. Ensure curriculum delivery meets Ofsted, awardingâbody and Ministry of Justice requirements. Support the preparation of the annual SelfâAssessment Report (SAR), Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and relevant budget inputs.
- Teaching, Coaching & Continuous Improvement:
- Deliver teaching sessions where required to support delivery and maintain subject expertise.
- Lead CPD sessions based on trends from observations, deep dives and performance reviews.
- Promote innovative, creative and problemâsolving approaches to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure the quality toolkit is updated regularly and shared centrally.
- Celebrate diversity, promote inclusion and support a positive learning culture.
Qualifications:
- Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) or willingness to work towards.
- Level 3 English and Maths.
- Strong experience managing curriculum development, quality systems and performance improvement.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Clear understanding of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
- Creative, flexible and solutionâfocused working style.
- Full driving licence and access to own transport.
- Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager qualification.
- Experience supporting Ofsted inspections or external quality reviews.
