We are seeking an experienced and motivated Groundworks & Streetworks Tutor to deliver high‑quality vocational training to learners at HMP Highpoint. You will work with small groups to develop practical groundworks skills, technical knowledge, and positive workplace behaviours that support progression into employment and help reduce re‑offending. This role involves creating structured lesson plans, delivering hands‑on vocational sessions, and supporting learners to gain qualifications up to Level 2. You will need strong industry experience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to rehabilitation through education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Groundworks/Streetworks qualifications up to Level 2.
- Create personalised learning plans aligned with learner needs and employment goals.
- Prepare and deliver engaging, structured lesson plans covering practical skills, site safety, and employability.
- Motivate learners to increase attendance, retention, and overall achievement.
- Provide constructive, clear feedback and adapt delivery based on learner progress.
- Complete all required learning and compliance documentation, including ILPs, registers, reviews, and awarding‑body paperwork.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, equality, data protection, and health & safety.
- Meet contractual KPIs, quality benchmarks, and reporting expectations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and prison staff to support learner progression.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in CPD, standardisation meetings, and internal quality processes.
Essential Criteria
- Level 2 qualification in Streetworks/Groundworks.
- Significant vocational experience within the groundworks or streetworks sector.
- Experience delivering vocational training or trade‑based instruction.
- Ability to engage learners using a range of teaching methods.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and organisational skills.
- Robust understanding of safeguarding, equality, H&S, and data protection.
Desirable Criteria
- Teaching or assessing qualification (or willingness to work towards).
- Experience delivering curriculum in roll‑on, roll‑off learning environments.
- Experience working with disadvantaged groups or in secure settings.
- Understanding of the OFSTED Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
