Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Residential Child/Adult Care Tutor/Assessor to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment to adult learners enrolled on Residential Childcare Level 4/5 and Adult up to Level 5. This hybrid role offers flexibility, combining remote delivery with occasional face-to-face visits depending on learner needs and location. Assessors will typically meet learners face-to-face up to three times per month (or if further afield twice per programme - individualised on induction), with all other sessions conducted remotely via Teams. You'll be responsible for supporting learners through every stage of their qualification, ensuring an engaging, supportive, and compliant learning experience that drives achievement and personal growth. Qualified IQA's will be considered for £29,500 starting + car allowance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessment in Residential care up to Level 5.
- Support and motivate learners to achieve timely completion of their qualifications.
- Conduct effective initial assessments and develop individual learning plans.
- Provide tailored support through a blend of face-to-face and remote learning.
- Track learner progress, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with awarding body standards.
- Support learners in developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required within the Residential care sector.
- Prepare for and participate in quality assurance activities to maintain high delivery standards.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all learning environments.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continuously improve delivery.
Essential Criteria:
- Recognised teaching or assessing qualification (TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent).
- Level 3 or above qualification in Residential care.
- Experience delivering or assessing Residential care qualifications.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
- Confident using technology, including Teams and e-portfolio systems.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for learner visits.
Desirable Criteria:
- Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (IQA) or equivalent.
- Experience delivering apprenticeships or adult learning qualifications up to Level 5.
- Occupational competence within Residential care settings.
- Experience in blended or hybrid delivery models.
