Salary: From Β£30,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Our client, a leading prison and adult education provider, are seeking a dedicated Electrics Trainer to join their team at HMP Highpoint. In this role, you will deliver Electrics qualifications up to Level 2, working with small groups of prison-based learners to develop their skills, knowledge, and behaviours. You will play a key role in supporting their long-term education and employment goals.

You will create engaging and inclusive learning experiences, ensuring learners gain the technical expertise required for future career opportunities. Your support and guidance will help learners achieve industry-recognised qualifications that improve their employment prospects upon release.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Electrics qualifications up to Level 2.
  • Develop and implement individual training plans to support learner progress.
  • Use a variety of engaging teaching methods to motivate and inspire learners.
  • Provide advice and guidance, ensuring learners receive the support they need.
  • Monitor and assess learners' work, ensuring it meets awarding body standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and achievement.
Essential / Desirable Criteria

Essential:

  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations or a related field.
  • Extensive vocational experience in the electrical industry.
  • Experience in delivering vocational training.
  • Ability to apply diverse training methods to engage learners.

Desirable:

  • A teaching or assessing qualification (PTLLS, AET, TAQA, or equivalent).
  • Experience working within prison education or alternative provisions.
  • Understanding of Ofsted and quality assurance frameworks.

If you do not currently hold a teaching or assessing qualification, our client can support you in achieving this as part of your probationary period.
