This is a permanent, full-time position where you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by delivering high-quality, practical training that helps learners develop valuable trade skills and achieve recognised qualifications. Working with small groups of prison-based learners, you will deliver structured lessons and workshops that build skills, knowledge, and confidence, supporting individuals to reach their full potential and prepare for sustainable employment upon release. • Support the development of learners' practical skills, knowledge, and behaviours in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Plan and deliver sessions that meet individual learning needs and align with qualification standards.
  • Prepare, assess, and track learner progress, providing constructive feedback and ensuring completion of required assessments.

Essential Criteria:

  • A recognised Carpentry qualification (minimum Level 2 or equivalent).
  • Significant vocational experience within the carpentry or construction industry.
  • Experience delivering training or teaching within a workshop or classroom setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use a variety of training and assessment methods to engage learners.

Desirable Criteria:

  • A recognised teaching or assessing qualification (e.g. PTLLS, AET, CAVA, or equivalent).
  • Previous experience delivering vocational training within prison education or alternative learning environments.
  • Flexibility to deliver qualifications across multiple subject areas.
