Are you an experienced Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with a strong background in anaesthetics? Are you looking to expand your clinical experience within a dynamic and supportive NHS environment?

We are currently partnering with a busy and respected NHS hospital in Cheshire that is seeking skilled Anaesthetic Practitioners to join its theatre team. This is an excellent opportunity for ODPs looking for flexible locum work, ongoing bookings, or the chance to gain more experience in a high-acuity surgical setting.

You’ll be working alongside anaesthetists, surgeons, and theatre staff to provide safe, effective anaesthetic support across a variety of specialities including:

  • General Surgery
  • Orthopaedics (Trauma & Elective)
  • ENT
  • Urology
  • Emergency & Day Case Surgery

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering safe and effective anaesthetic care in line with NHS and HCPC standards
  • Preparing, checking and maintaining anaesthetic equipment and supplies
  • Assisting anaesthetists during procedures including induction, maintenance, and emergence of anaesthesia
  • Monitoring patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively
  • Supporting emergency and elective procedures as part of a multi-disciplinary theatre team
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring high standards of infection control

Candidate Requirements:

  • HCPC registration as an Operating Department Practitioner
  • Minimum of 6 months recent anaesthetic experience within the NHS
  • Sound knowledge of current anaesthetic practices and protocols
  • DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
