We are working with a growing and well-regarded accounting and finance consultancy that partners with real estate and private equity clients. Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a Financial Accountant into a client-facing role with strong ownership and progression opportunities. This position is ideal for a recently qualified accountant looking to move into a more commercial, client-focused environment.
THE ROLE: You will work closely with a portfolio of real estate clients, taking responsibility for financial reporting and statutory compliance. Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of statutory financial statements under UK GAAP (FRS 102 / FRS 101) and IFRS.
- Support with consolidated accounts, including schedules and supporting documentation.
- Preparation and submission of Corporation Tax and VAT returns.
- Acting as a key point of contact for auditors and managing the audit process.
- Ownership of month-end and year-end close processes (journals, reconciliations).
- Preparation of cash flow forecasts.
- Production of monthly management accounts with variance analysis.
- Maintaining accurate financial records across Xero, ClearBooks, and related systems.
- Balance sheet reconciliations across bank, purchase ledger, and sales ledger.
THE PERSON: ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or newly qualified, up to c.2 years’ PQE). Background in industry or practice (with accounts preparation) with exposure to real estate. Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP / IFRS). Be an advanced Excel user; experience of Quickbooks, Xero, Sage or similar will be highly advantageous. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate financial information. Confident communicator with the ability to engage with clients. Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.
