Group Finance Director – Real Estate Investment & Development.

OUR CLIENT is an innovative property development and investment company committed to advancing sustainable building practices across the UK. Currently, the business is expanding beyond its traditional development model by exploring efficient capital strategies, joint ventures, investment management platforms, and potential international growth. To support this strategic evolution, they are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Group Finance Director to lead the corporate finance function through this critical phase of growth and transformation.

This role will be critical in driving that change — ensuring robust group financial oversight while enabling senior leadership to focus on capital raising and growth strategy.

THE ROLE responsibilities for the Group Finance Director will include:

  • Leading all aspects of group finance, including reporting, treasury, and tax strategy.
  • Helping the CFO develop and model group cashflows, budgets and projections / business models.
  • Managing corporate structuring and oversee financial governance across multiple entities.
  • Supporting the transition to IFRS consolidated reporting and implement scalable finance systems.
  • Partnering with legal, finance, and investment leads across the business and external advisors.
  • Building and developing internal finance capability, while working with outsourced providers.
  • Providing strategic financial input into capital deployment, JV structures, and acquisitions.

THE PERSON and SKILL REQUIREMENTS for the Group Finance Director role:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 10+ years’ experience in real estate, private equity, or fund management.
  • Strong technical expertise across corporate tax, treasury, debt, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel modeller, able to perform scenario analysis, stress testing and support strategic planning.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving environment with incomplete and evolving processes.
  • Able to manage a small team while acting as a senior voice in the business.
  • Gravitas and resilience to engage with senior stakeholders including international board reporting.
