Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Blackpool, with flexibility for some work from home.

The Energy Auditor / ESOS Lead Assessor will conduct on-site and remote energy audits, inspect facilities and building services, and gather detailed data on energy consumption and performance.

The role includes leading ESOS compliance assessments, identifying energy efficiency opportunities, and preparing clear, technically robust reports and recommendations for clients.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with clients to explain findings, support the implementation of energy-saving measures, and ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with net zero strategies.

Day-to-day responsibilities also involve coordinating audit schedules, maintaining accurate documentation, and working with internal teams to continuously improve processes and client outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Strong inspection and energy efficiency skills, with experience assessing building services, processes, and equipment for performance and improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated auditing and energy management capabilities, including ESOS assessments, compliance reporting, and development of energy reduction plans.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical findings clearly, build trust with clients, and support them through implementation.
  • Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in energy auditing, engineering, sustainability, or a related field; ESOS Lead Assessor accreditation or eligibility is highly beneficial.
  • Solid analytical and numerical skills, including proficiency with energy data analysis, reporting tools, and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Knowledge of UK energy legislation, ESOS requirements, and best practices in energy efficiency and carbon reduction.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, manage multiple audits and deadlines, and adapt to on-site and remote working environments.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
