A growing power generation business is looking to hire multiple Field Service Engineers across Scotland due to continued expansion in the region. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer from a power generation, landfill gas, CHP, generator, controls or electrical maintenance background to join a company that operates its own sites.
Unlike many field service roles, you will not be dealing with external customers or moving between client-owned assets. The landfill gas sites are owned and operated by the business, giving you a more consistent working environment and a stronger sense of ownership over the equipment you support.
The role would suit an engineer who enjoys technical fault finding and hands-on maintenance, but who is also looking for a better work/life balance than a traditional reactive field service position. Overtime is managed sensibly and paid back as time in lieu, helping engineers maintain a healthy balance while still supporting critical power assets. Call-out support is also highly manageable. In most cases, issues can be diagnosed and resolved remotely from a laptop at home, meaning call-outs rarely require engineers to immediately travel to site during unsociable hours.
