We’re working with an industry-leading UPS specialist that is looking to add an experienced UPS Maintenance Engineer to its field service team. This is a great opportunity for an engineer with strong experience across UPS systems, critical power, commercial BESS, batteries and electrical maintenance to join a highly respected business with a strong reputation in the market.
The Role
As a UPS Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and fault finding on UPS systems and commercial battery energy storage systems across client sites. You will work on a range of critical power equipment, supporting customers with planned maintenance, reactive callouts and technical support.
Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair UPS systems across customer sites
- Work on commercial BESS assets, including maintenance, inspections and fault finding
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance
- Diagnose and repair faults on UPS systems, batteries and associated electrical equipment
- Complete battery inspections, testing and replacements
- Carry out site surveys, reports and service documentation
- Provide technical support and advice to customers
- Work safely in line with company procedures and electrical regulations
- Participate in callout rota where required
Requirements
- Experience working on UPS systems, critical power, standby power or similar electrical equipment is essential
- Commercial BESS experience is essential
- Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding skills
- Experience with batteries, switchgear, power electronics or generators would be beneficial
- Electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent
- 18th Edition would be beneficial
- UPS manufacturer training would be advantageous
- Full UK driving licence is essential
- Comfortable working in a field service role with travel to customer sites
- Right to work in the UK is essential for this role
