Trident Recruitment are supporting a well-established temporary and standby power generation company. Our client has multiple depots across the UK and offers maintenance, servicing and call out services to a wide range of customers across multiple industries. Due to sustained growth we are now looking to expand the field service operations team.

An established engineering business is looking to appoint a Field Service Engineer to support a busy depot in Central belt of Scotland. This is a predominantly field-based role, with some depot-based work required depending on business needs. The successful candidate will support the Depot Foreman with day-to-day engineering requirements, working on generator equipment across customer sites and in the depot.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer with experience in generators, plant hire, mechanical maintenance or electrical fault finding to join a busy, hands-on service team.

  • Carry out servicing and maintenance work on generators both on-site and in the depot
  • Complete mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Fault find across control panels and AC/DC electrical systems
  • Support out-of-hours callout rota (1:5) including bank holidays when required (OT Pay)
  • Complete daily defect reports for company vehicle roadworthiness
  • Complete paperwork linked to equipment maintenance, including service sheets and PDI sheets
  • Support depot engineering requirements as needed

Qualifications:

  • NVQ in Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience within the generator, plant hire or similar engineering industry
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability
  • Ability to prioritise workload and complete weekly service schedules on time
  • Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 3 years
  • Forklift licence would be beneficial, although training can be provided
