Trident Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector / Machinist Inspector to join a precision engineering business in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

We are looking for someone with a strong machining background who has progressed into inspection and quality, with proven experience programming CMM machines directly from CAD models.

Experience with PC-DMIS would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out dimensional inspection of precision-engineered components.
  • Programme and operate CMM equipment using CAD models.
  • Create and modify CMM inspection programmes.
  • Use PC-DMIS software to complete accurate inspection routines.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and technical specifications.
  • Inspect first-off, in-process and finished components.
  • Work closely with the machining and production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Record and report inspection results accurately.
  • Ensure components meet customer and internal quality requirements.
  • The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have

  • Previous experience as a CNC machinist and/or experienced Quality Inspector.
  • Strong knowledge of precision engineering and machining processes.
  • Proven experience programming CMM machines from CAD models.
  • Experience using PC-DMIS is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Good understanding of tolerances, GD&T and inspection techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
  • Working Hours

39 hours per week

  • Monday–Thursday: 07:30–16:30
  • 2 × 10-minute paid breaks
  • 1 × 30-minute unpaid meal break
  • Overtime Available

Overtime is available before and after each shift, as well as on Friday afternoons until 14:30, providing an excellent opportunity to increase weekly earnings.
