An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Engineer to join a growing projects team. This is a varied role responsible for managing the successful delivery of refrigeration projects from design through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standard. Reporting to the Head of Projects, you will be based from the Leeds office while travelling to customer sites across the UK as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the successful delivery of assigned projects from start to finish
  • Take an active role in project design and present design proposals where required
  • Develop, agree and manage project programmes
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within agreed profit margins
  • Produce and maintain all project documentation
  • Prepare and issue Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Procure non-major project components and ensure timely delivery to site
  • Record and manage project variations with customers
  • Monitor project progress and resolve any issues affecting delivery
  • Manage commissioning and post-commissioning activities
  • Represent the business at customer and project meetings
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal departments
  • Liaise with the Drawing Office and other internal teams throughout project delivery

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Accurately use job costing software
  • Manage project budgets to achieve profitability targets
  • Ensure interim and final account applications are submitted and settled promptly
  • Deliver projects within agreed financial and timescale constraints

Team & Site Management:

  • Coordinate direct labour, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Assist with the appointment and management of M&E subcontractors
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are implemented and maintained on site
  • Ensure company standards and procedures are followed throughout each project

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a Project Engineer or similar project management role
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems and relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent customer-facing and relationship-building skills
  • Experience leading teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders
  • Confident presentation skills
  • A proactive approach with the ability to use initiative
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • CSCS Project Manager/Site Manager card
  • Experience working under CDM Regulations
  • Basic AutoCAD knowledge
