We are working with an industry-leading UPS specialist that is looking to add an experienced UPS Maintenance Engineer to its field service team. This is a great opportunity for an engineer with strong experience across UPS systems, critical power, commercial BESS, batteries and electrical maintenance to join a highly respected business with a strong reputation in the market.

The Role

As a UPS Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and fault finding on UPS systems and commercial battery energy storage systems across client sites. You will work on a range of critical power equipment, supporting customers with planned maintenance, reactive callouts and technical support.

Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair UPS systems across customer sites
  • Work on commercial BESS assets, including maintenance, inspections and fault finding
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair faults on UPS systems, batteries and associated electrical equipment
  • Complete battery inspections, testing and replacements
  • Carry out site surveys, reports and service documentation
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers
  • Work safely in line with company procedures and electrical regulations
  • Participate in callout rota where required

Requirements

  • Experience working on UPS systems, critical power, standby power or similar electrical equipment is essential
  • Commercial BESS experience is essential
  • Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding skills
  • Experience with batteries, switchgear, power electronics or generators would be beneficial
  • Electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent
  • 18th Edition would be beneficial
  • UPS manufacturer training would be advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence is essential
  • Comfortable working in a field service role with travel to customer sites
  • Right to work in the UK is essential for this role
