Offshore HVAC Technician – 3 Weeks On / 3 Weeks Off Rotation
North Sea Offshore | UK based Applicants Only
Join the Largest Independent HVAC/R Service Provider in the North Sea. Trident-IES is currently recruiting for an experienced Offshore HVAC Technician to join our offshore operations team on a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation based on a North Sea installation. This is an immediate-start opportunity on a temporary assignment expected to run until the end of 2026, with the potential for extension or permanent employment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, fault-finding and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems offshore, including:
- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Supply and extract fans
- Motors and electric heaters
- DX refrigeration systems
- Humidifiers
- Pneumatically actuated fire and smoke dampers
- Industrial refrigeration equipment
You will also be expected to undertake:
- Module pressure and fan performance testing
- Basic LEV testing and inspections
- Ductwork inspections
- Interpretation of P&IDs, DIDs, DFDs, GAs and electrical schematics
- Refrigerant leak testing, fault diagnosis and corrective maintenance
- Accurate maintenance reporting using CMMS and ISSOW systems
Essential Requirements
- Proven HVAC and refrigeration maintenance experience
- F-Gas Category 1 (2079) Certification
- Strong refrigeration background
- Knowledge of F-Gas regulations
- Understanding of COSHH and LEV testing requirements
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Must currently reside in the UK
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
- S/NVQ Level 3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Level 2 and experienced candidates will also be considered)
- Offshore Survival, MIST and OEUK Medical
- Working at Height (Level 2)
- Small Bore Tubing (SBT01)
- Emergency First Aid
- CompEx EX01–04
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 15138
