An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Client Accountant to join a dynamic housing and property management team in London. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys taking ownership of financial reporting, supporting clients, and working collaboratively across teams.
THE ROLE'S RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE CLIENT ACCOUNTANT:
- Prepare and submit service charge year-end accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations, liaising with accountants and estate managers.
- Manage the full budget demand process and ensure demands are issued on time.
- Deliver accurate cyclical client reports and provide information to support VAT submissions.
- Review and correct monthly expenditure with Property Managers.
- Support rent increase processes across AST, Affordable Rent, and Shared Ownership.
- Circulate year-end accounts to leaseholders and issue Section 20b notices where required.
- Reconcile all client bank accounts promptly, resolving discrepancies.
THE PERSON'S REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CLIENT ACCOUNTANT:
- Ideally working towards an accounting qualification.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar property management role.
- Strong numerical and reporting skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communicator and team player with a customer-first approach.
- Competent in Excel and in using a property management system.
