Fund Financial Controller - Real Estate Finance

Fund Financial Controller – Real Estate Financing – London – OUR CLIENT is a successful and leading provider of development, bridging and investment finance for the real estate sector and has provided £Billions of loans and funded the construction of thousands of new homes. With significant, institutional, capital injection they are now embarking on an exciting period of rapid growth – broadening their product offering, raising new capital and building their team. As they continue to grow, they have solely instructed us to help them appoint a Fund Financial Controller to manage a small finance function in their London office.\\n\\nROLE RESPONSIBILITIES of the Fund Financial Controller will include, but not be limited to:\\n\\nFund vehicles:\\n\\nDirecting and managing the external fund administrators in the ongoing operations of the fund vehicles including investor drawdowns, distributions, board meetings, deal approvals, expense and cost approvals, inter-company cash management, intercompany structuring.\\nOngoing direction and management of external bookkeepers maintaining the monthly, quarterly and annual fund accounts.\\nManaging external debt facilities including waterfall preparation, covenant tracking, cash flow forecasting.\\nPreparing / reviewing monthly / quarterly external investor reports including fund cashflow forecasting with assistance of internal staff.\\nManaging external fund auditors / year-end audit process as the main point of contact where applicable and setting up any new fund vehicles including legal structure and tax.\\nOverseeing changes and implementation of improving existing fund models for new workstreams.\\nWorking closely with investor relations on accounting and fund performance-related investor queries.\\nLiaising with overseas listing agents and legal advisors in listing loan notes.\\nCash management of investor and debt cash flows funded or repaid as required to minimise fund IRR leakage and cash drag.

\\n\\nInternal finance:\\n\\nPreparing annual budgets for internal management entities.\\nReviewing Quarterly management accounts and VAT Returns.\\nReviewing Statutory accounts for management and related entities; liaise and manage external bookkeepers.\\nArranging payment of invoices with assistance.\\nExternal auditors / year-end audit process.\\nSourcing and introducing new software for internal accounting. \\n\\nLoan book reporting, administration, management:\\n\\nCalculating / tracking of interest, fees, principal, draws, repayments of loans to clients and associated financing instruments which fund those loans.\\nMonthly client statement preparation.\\nWorking alongside the credit team in maintaining the loan book.\\nReviewing redemption statements and ad hoc requests. \\n\\nRegulatory and compliance:\\n\\nManaging relationship with UK regulatory wrapper provider.\\nManaging internal and external regulatory policies e.g.

AML, GDPR, CFA 2017 etc and liaising with compliance consultants and external parties. \\n\\nTHE PERSON and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: To apply for the Fund Financial Controller role, you will:\\n\\nBe ACA / ACCA qualified with relevant transferable skills.\\nPossess Real estate experience – highly advantageous.\\nHave had exposure to risk, compliance and regulatory controls.\\nPossess prior experience in finance, specifically in private debt / equity, investment management or investment banking.\\nBe used to working in a medium size / corporate / "hands-on" environment with broad exposure – as opposed to large fund finance department / narrow exposure.\\nPossess excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. \\n\\nBENEFITS:\\n\\nHybrid – 4 days in office.\\nGood driven bonus culture.\\nHealth Insurance etc.
