OUR CLIENT is a private Family Office which focuses on real estate both in the UK and Europe and currently generating a c£3M rental income portfolio from a mainly commercial portfolio with some residential property. With the portfolio now stabilised our Client is looking for a robust, detail-driven Finance Controller to lead a critical finance clean-up and transition project. This is a hands-on, sleeves-rolled-up role. Not for the faint-hearted.
Overview
Responsibilities
- Reconstruct and finalise the 2024 year-end accounts across a group of legacy and current entities.
- Support completion of overdue 2023 accounts (light touch).
- Drive statutory accounts preparation and manage YE24 audit with external advisors.
- Oversee intercompany reconciliations, VAT (10–12 entities), cashflow, and payroll.
- Lead a remote finance team of two.
- Clean up historic records and streamline financial ops into one main entity.
- Support ongoing property operations and legacy clean-up.
- Work closely with owner and advisors (ex-KPMG and Big 4 level).
Qualifications
- A fully qualified accountant with solid and relevant PQE financial accounts preparation experience.
- Possess prior experience in SMEs / family offices with messy or legacy structures and have exposure to real estate.
- Strong Excel skills with Xero experience preferred.
- The ability to work full-time, independently, and drive things to the finish line.
