Technical & Projects Manager

Salary £50,000.00 plus £1680 car allowance
37.5 hours per week

About the role
The role is responsible for providing technical surveying, clerk of works oversight and quality assurance across repairs, voids, refurbishment, specialist property works and minor projects.
What you'll be doing
Undertake technical inspections, prepare scopes of work and specifications, monitor contractor workmanship and ensure works are delivered safely, to the required standard, within agreed timescales and in accordance with contract requirements.
Provide practical technical support to the repairs and property services function, helping to resolve complex property issues, manage defects, oversee small works and ensure effective contractor performance across day-to-day and project-based activity.
Support refurbishment schemes, disrepair cases, damp and mould inspections, complex repairs, building safety related works and other ad hoc property projects where technical oversight is required.
Experience
Experience of working in a technical surveying, clerk of works, repairs inspection or construction quality assurance role.
Experience of inspecting residential properties and diagnosing building defects.
Experience of preparing scopes of work, schedules, specifications and technical reports.
Understanding of responsive repairs, voids, refurbishment works and minor property projects.
Experience of managing or supporting complex repairs, damp and mould, disrepair or specialist property inspections.
Working knowledge of health and safety requirements, CDM Regulations and site-based risk management.
Competencies
Strong technical understanding of residential property, building defects, repairs and refurbishment works.
Practical and confident approach to site inspections and contractor challenge.
Good judgement in assessing workmanship, specification compliance and value for money.
Strong written skills, including inspection notes, reports, specifications and technical records.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy operational environment.
Effective communication skills with residents, contractors, consultants and colleagues.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide practical, proportionate solutions.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while keeping managers informed of risks, progress and issues.
Qualifications
Relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Property, Retrofit or related discipline.
Professional membership with RICS, CIOB or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
Evidence of continued professional development relevant to retrofit, planned investment or property projects.
