Locum Outpatients Pharmacist needed for ongoing locum contract based in central London.

Contract: Locum - minimum 4-month contract with the view to extend

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (plus rotational weekends)

Reporting to: Deputy Chief Pharmacist / Chief Pharmacist

Pay: £31.00 per hour, £1,162 per week, £4,648 per month (All figures are before deductions for tax and National Insurance)

About the Role: Trident healthcare are seeking an experienced and motivated Locum Outpatients Pharmacist to support and lead the delivery of a comprehensive, patient-focused Outpatient Pharmacy Service in Central London. You will ensure patients receive their medication in a timely, professional, and efficient manner, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, governance, and clinical excellence. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who is confident working autonomously in a busy outpatient environment and who can provide strong leadership to the dispensary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the safe and effective delivery of all aspects of the outpatient pharmacy service, in line with national and local standards
  • Ensure a high-quality, responsive, and patient-centred service
  • Provide clinical and professional leadership to dispensary staff
  • Supervise, train, and support the development of dispensary team members
  • Lead preparation for regulatory inspections, including development, review, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Promote the safe and effective use of medicines
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and multidisciplinary teams, providing clear and relevant medicines information
  • Contribute to service improvement, governance, and quality assurance activities

Working Pattern:

Pharmacy opening hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 20:00

Shift patterns: 08:30 - 17:00, 09:30 - 18:00, 11:30 - 20:00

Expectation of one late shift per week. Rotational weekend working required.

About You:

Essential:

  • GPhC-registered Pharmacist
  • Experience working in a registered pharmacy
  • Experience in an outpatient or hospital pharmacy setting
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Commitment to patient safety and service excellence

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections
  • Experience developing and reviewing SOPs
  • Experience working in a busy outpatient or acute healthcare environment
