Trident Healthcare are looking for an experienced Head & Neck Sonographer for a long-term locum opportunity in Sheffield for a 6-9 month contract.
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £50.00 - £55.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM
Contract Length: Long-term locum
Key Responsibilities:
- Head & Neck Ultrasound: Perform high-quality diagnostic scans with precision and accuracy.
- Patient Care & Communication: Provide clear explanations and reassurance throughout procedures.
- Clinical Reporting: Deliver detailed and structured reports to support clinical decision-making.
- Collaboration with Medical Teams: Work closely with radiologists and referring clinicians.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to UK ultrasound protocols and patient safety standards.
Scans Required:
- Thyroid Ultrasound: Used to assess thyroid nodules, enlargement, cysts.
- Salivary Gland Imaging: Helps detect stones, infections, tumours, and inflammation in the parotid and submandibular glands.
- Lymph Node Assessment: Evaluates swollen or abnormal lymph nodes, often used in cancer staging.
- Soft Tissue Masses: Identifies cysts, lipomas, abscesses, and tumours in the neck region.
- Vascular Ultrasound: Examines carotid arteries for blockages or abnormalities that may indicate stroke risk.
- Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) Biopsy Guidance: Assists in targeted biopsies for suspected malignancies.
Requirements:
- Full competency in Head & Neck ultrasound scanning
- HCPC or CASE-accredited qualification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in head & neck sonography
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
