About The Role

Reporting to the Executive Lead – Finance, you will effectively lead the Finance Team to ensure we provide a reliable and flexible finance service that supports Trident's operational and strategic goals whilst maintaining strong financial controls. As a Head of Service, you will contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives and to ensure all activities are conducted with the highest levels of professionalism, integrity and accountability. To proactively support the organisation in maintaining G1 status, remaining fully informed of, and compliant with, all relevant regulatory and governance standards.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Ensure accounts are compliant with latest financial standards
  • Managing financial transaction team ensuring timely and accurate Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Rent accounting.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate regulatory returns are submitted to the Regulator of Social Housing and ensuring compliance with the Rent Standard.
  • Manage VAT and Corporation Tax returns
  • Meeting governance and internal control requirements to maintain our G1 rating with the regulator
  • Ensuring that effective budgetary control is maintained, including a robust budget setting process, effective budget monitoring and regular management accounts to investigate and explain financial performance
  • Ensure delivery of rent and service charge budgets that are timely accurate and meet best practice guidelines
  • Drive improvement on operating performance. Providing key information that feeds into the 30-year financial plan
  • Assist with funding strategies and delivery of new loan facilities
  • Producing financial analysis to evaluate the risks and benefits of new business proposals
  • Responsible for the identification and management of Finance-related risks, and the monitoring of golden rules

Who we're looking for?

  • Qualified Accountant with solid post-qualification experience. Delivered success statutory and audit outcomes.
  • Evidence of driving strong performance in a similar team
  • Can demonstrate relevant sector knowledge and apply it effectively to drive positive outcomes for Trident
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable effective liaison with internal and external clients
  • Good knowledge of Excel and other MS packages and a sound knowledge of finance and reporting systems
  • Knowledge of housing systems
