Social Care Worker
Location: Market Drayton, Shropshire. Pay: £12.60 per hour (Casual Contract – Zero Hours). This role supports people with learning disabilities and other complex needs in a registered care home for up to 9 adults.
Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred support that enhances the lives of people with profound learning disabilities.
- Provide personal care, cleaning, cooking, record keeping and support health and wellbeing needs.
- Attend health appointments as specified.
- Work independently and safely, applying a good understanding of learning disabilities, autism and mental health.
- Implement effective behaviour management techniques and maintain a safe educational environment.
- Maintain punctuality and reliability, with early morning, late finish, weekend and occasional night shifts.
- Keep all mandatory training up to date and comply with health and social care legislation and CQC fundamental standards.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including ability to support non‑verbal and alternative communication users.
- Experience supporting adults with challenging behaviour.
- Resilience, ability to build meaningful relationships and de‑escalate incidents.
- Preferable Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
- Understanding of health and social care legislation and CQC standards.
