Finance Team Leader – Accounts Payable
Trident Close, Erdington, Birmingham
£33,926.17 per annum
37.5 hours per week
This is an office based role working 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday with no hybrid working

About the role
The main purpose of the role is to maintain key financial support mainly across Purchase Ledger. To give assistance across Sales Ledger, Cashbook Management and Rent Income Allocations. You will maintain strong financial controls alongside Finance Colleagues and help deliver financial resources across the team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering accounting functions mainly on Accounts Payable and to assist on Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, Rent Income and Bank and any other adhoc duties where required
- Leading a small Team on Accounts Payable
- Maintaining robust financial processes, ensuring a strong audit trail for all transactions
- Process transactions within agreed time scales
- Working to be flexible to meet all deadlines
- Providing cover during other colleague absence where necessary
- Working with and creating a culture of delivery and process improvement
- Ensure accuracy in processing of transactional data
- Ensure good quality process notes for all processes
- Assist in year‑end audit work
- Responsible for working within appropriate policies in areas of responsibility, in line with current legislation and best practice
- Ensure efficient and effective filing and information systems
- To work within agreed set Service Level Agreements
- Participate in performance training and development activities as required
- Contribute to the continual improvement and efficiency, within Finance and the business
- Effective building, maintaining, and sustaining relationships with key colleagues
- Deal with queries effectively, liaising with outside agencies and colleagues
- Create good relationships across the business. Building trust within our team, our systems, and our processes
- Work with the business so they understand and adhere to key processes and
Experience
- Experience of working in Finance preferably in Purchase Ledger and Bank
- Experience of working with finance systems
- Experience of leading others
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of maintaining financial controls and adhering to procurement policies and procedures
- Understand double entry to ensure transactions are posted correctly across multiple systems
- Good knowledge of Excel and other MS packages
