We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Finance Business Partner to act as a key link between the Group Finance team in London and our international subsidiary finance teams. The role is focused on leveraging strong financial accounting expertise to enhance financial reporting quality, strengthen financial controls, improve accounting processes, and ensure the consistent application of Group policies and requirements across the Group.
Working closely with finance teams in multiple jurisdictions, the successful candidate will provide technical accounting guidance, support the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting processes, review financial statements and management reporting, and help drive improvements in financial governance, control environments and finance processes. The role requires a thorough understanding of financial accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate technical accounting knowledge into practical business solutions and process improvements.
The successful candidate will play a key role in reviewing subsidiary financial information, challenging accounting treatments, supporting balance sheet governance, investigating reporting discrepancies, and promoting best practice across reporting, controls and financial systems. Leveraging SAP and Oracle expertise, they will support local finance teams in maintaining high-quality financial information and robust financial processes.
Whilst the role is based in London, international travel to operational offices will be required.
Key Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of IFRS.
- Experience within the Oil & Gas, Energy or Natural Resources sectors.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience of SAP is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Review monthly management accounts submitted by subsidiary finance teams, ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to Group reporting requirements.
- Build strong relationships with subsidiary finance teams, providing support and guidance to enhance their reporting capabilities.
- Provide support to subsidiary finance teams in the use of Oracle Planning and Budgeting during monthly reporting, forecasting and budgeting cycles and help maintain the system.
- Leverage SAP expertise to investigate reporting discrepancies, resolve accounting issues and improve data quality.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across SAP, Oracle and related finance systems.
- Review and enhance finance processes to improve efficiency, consistency and control.
- Promote best practice in balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls across all subsidiaries conducting regular reviews of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Provide support to the subsidiaries on various audits, including external, JV and government.
- Other ad-hoc projects as required.
