The postholder will work collaboratively with Building Surveyors, Project Managers, Cost Consultants and Principal Designers (CDM & BR) to integrate fire safety compliance into Trident’s wider delivery model. The purpose is to develop and maintain fire engineering standards across the UK, supporting consistent advice, delivery and future growth of Trident’s Building & Fire Safety services, from initial design through to delivery and Gateway submissions, and practical completion.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, review and sign‑off of fire engineering deliverables including fire strategies, technical design statements, regulatory compliance reports and supporting analysis for complex buildings.
- Apply chartered‑level professional judgement to risk‑based fire engineering decisions, ensuring alignment with UK legislation, Approved Documents, BS guidance, and emerging regulatory expectations under the Building Safety Act.
- Act as the senior technical lead within the business for fire engineering matters, providing review, challenge and assurance.
- Act as a trusted professional advisor to clients; manage expectations through proactive communication; provide clear guidance and advice, particularly on complex or higher‑risk projects.
- Support fee proposals and scope definitions; actively promote Trident’s multi-disciplinary services; develop client relationships and contribute to Trident’s regional market presence.
- Mentor and support junior colleagues; contribute to internal CPD, knowledge sharing and service improvement.
