We have a great opportunity for a Passenger Assistant to join our team in Christchurch. Christchurch Connect is a purpose-built day service designed to provide enriching leisure and learning experiences through both individual and group-based activities. These sessions are tailored to promote choice, independence, and personal development, empowering individuals to build skills and engage in meaningful pursuits such as dance, drama, gardening, sport, photography, crafts, and community groups.

As a Passenger Assistant, you’ll play a vital part in delivering a safe, supportive, and efficient transport service for vulnerable clients. You’ll escort individuals from their homes to the day centre or other community-based activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing throughout the journey.

What you’ll do:

  • Safely escort clients to and from services, using appropriate seating and safety equipment.
  • Support risk assessments and adhere to all relevant policies and statutory requirements (e.g., Health & Safety, GDPR, Equality Act).
  • Build positive relationships with drivers, colleagues, clients, families/carers, and BCP Passenger Transport staff.
  • Administer first aid or emergency medication in line with care plans.
  • Provide travel training to individuals, including walking and use of fleet or public transport.
  • Work flexibly as needed to support service delivery.

What you need:

  • Ability to follow care plans and risk assessments with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team.
  • A calm, patient, and approachable manner.
  • Competence in maintaining accurate paper and electronic records.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (desirable).
  • Safeguarding Adults Training (desirable).

Part-time - 17.5 hours per week. We are NOT able to offer visa sponsorship for this type of role.
