We have a new opportunity to join our teams at April Court and Wallfield as a Sleep‑in Night Residential Support Worker. April Court in Kinson and Wallfield in Southbourne, Bournemouth are Residential Care Homes for Adults with Learning Disabilities. Our friendly and supportive teams are passionate about ensuring our residents are supported to maintain their individuality.

You will provide an on-site presence overnight to ensure the safety and security of residents during the night in the event of a suspected fire or the fire alarm sounding to assist with the evacuation of the building.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Remain on-site overnight and sleep on the premises.
  • Be prepared and available to wake and respond promptly if evacuation of the building is required.
  • Follow the service’s emergency evacuation procedures including safeguarding responses and comply with Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs).
  • Ensure the building is secure before settling for sleep including checking doors/windows and alarms.
  • Report any health and safety concerns.
  • Ensure service users are safeguarded at all times.

What we’re looking for:

  • Ability to follow protocols including safeguarding and emergency procedures.
  • Experience working in a setting that supports vulnerable people (learning disability experience desirable).
  • Knowledge of appropriate professional behaviour when supporting adults with learning disabilities.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to remain calm.
  • Care Certificate or willingness to work towards and complete statutory training on learning disabilities.

10 hours per night – 09:45 pm to 07:45 am
