The Maintenance Technician provides a key role within the manufacturing function of the Company; responsible for ensuring the factory facilities and machinery are kept well maintained to meet the needs of the business. This is a hands-on role, with a focus on preventative maintenance which requires a proactive team player and practical problem solver.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Conduct planned and unplanned maintenance of services, plant and equipment
  • Ensure preventative maintenance routines are completed in a timely manner and are appropriate to maintain safety, quality and performance standards
  • Perform general facilities maintenance around the site for example, plumbing, lighting, painting, window & door repair
  • Compliance with H&S standards, reporting hazards, near misses and incidents
  • Conduct Weekly Fire Point checks and update records accordingly
  • Record keeping of all completed maintenance via our ticketing system
  • Contractor management: including ensuring correct RAMS, insurance and training records are provided
  • Use of equipment, including power tools, hand tools, workshop, electrical and plumbing tools
  • Assist and advise in the ordering of new parts and fitting when required
  • Assisting in 6S & Lean Improvement Projects
  • Assist in the introduction of new equipment and processes and contribute to the development of same
  • Main out of hours emergency call out point
  • Legionella duty controller
  • Any other duties assigned by management to meet the needs of the business

Qualifications/Skills

  • 2+ years experiences in a Manufacturing environment
  • A technical competence in mechanical and electrical
  • Good problem-solving skills in production and ancillary equipment
  • Team player along with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work at heights and confined spaces
