The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and managing efficient production schedules that meet customer demands and optimise resources. We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented planner who has a keen eye for detail and excellent knowledge of Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Generation of production schedules to ensure all customer requirements and agreed inventory levels are met.
  • Be responsible for the running of MRP on the company’s ERP system (IFS).
  • Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly production plans for all work centres.
  • Monitor daily production output and coordinate schedule variances.
  • Engage with all departments and compile requirements to ensure all needs are effectively planned and executed.
  • Short and medium-term capacity planning/management.
  • Manage inventory at each level within the process to ensure inventory policies are achieved through effective deployment of planning processes.
  • Update actual production status in ERP systems and create and release work orders as per the detailed scheduling horizon.
  • Ensure planning systems parameters are maintained up to date.
  • Development and maintenance of policies and procedures for the Production Planning area.
  • Contribute to site management operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to health and safety initiatives.
  • Interact with sales and customer services regarding any customer related queries.
  • Project work within the scheduling area.
  • Any other duties to support the needs of the business.

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 3 years relevant Supply Chain experience (Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics or Manufacturing) is advantageous.
  • A high level of knowledge in an ERP/MRP/Production Planning system; IFS knowledge is advantageous.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to have a flexible approach and be capable of working on their own initiative in a team-based environment.
  • Strong communication skills and an influencing ability are crucial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail along with excellent working knowledge in MS EXCEL are essential.
