About the Company
This is a high-growth, creative media and data-led business at a defining moment in its journey. Following recent private equity investment, the company is entering an exciting new phase of controlled, accelerated growth. The culture combines entrepreneurial energy with commercial ambition. It’s a business that values pace, clarity and intelligent challenge, where leaders are trusted to take ownership and shape the future. With investment secured and strong growth forecast, this is an opportunity to join at exactly the right moment, helping build the financial foundations that will support the next stage of scale and your career.
The Role
This is a newly created, standalone Finance Director role and the first of its kind in the business. You’ll join the senior leadership team and take full ownership of the finance function, operating hands-on while acting as a trusted partner to founders and investors. This is not a large corporate FD position. It’s a high-impact, close-to-the-numbers leadership role where you will professionalise finance without over-engineering it, bringing structure, visibility and discipline while preserving the pace and culture that made the business successful.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading end-to-end financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and cash management.
- Embedding investor-grade monthly reporting and board packs aligned to PE expectations.
- Strengthening financial controls, governance frameworks and working capital discipline.
- Providing commercial insight across projects, utilisation, margins and profitability.
- Partnering with founders and senior leaders to inform pricing, hiring, and investment decisions.
- Managing compliance, audit readiness and financial risk.
- Developing scalable systems and processes to support growth.
- Over time, building and leading a high-performing finance function.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re commercially sharp, hands-on and pragmatic. You’re comfortable operating in a standalone environment, enjoy building structure from scratch, and bring calm, credible leadership during periods of change. You’re equally confident in the detail and at the board table. You know what “good” looks like in a PE-backed environment and can balance rigour with agility.
Essential Skills & Experience
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- 10+ years post-qualification experience
- Experience in marketing services, media services, or tech/SaaS platform environments.
- Exposure to PE-backed, PE-ready, or investor-led growth businesses.
- Strong standalone or first-in FD experience would be advantageous.
- Advanced management reporting, budgeting and forecasting capability.
- Experience with Xero; Power BI or Alteryx advantageous.
- Strong financial modelling and commercial insight skills.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- This is a foundational leadership appointment at a pivotal point in the company’s evolution.
- Real ownership and influence at board level.
- Exposure to PE value creation and strategic growth initiatives.
- A genuine pathway toward a broader CFO remit as the business expands.
- A leadership team that values clarity, challenge and partnership.
