A leading main contractor specialising in London-focused commercial refurbishment and fit out projects is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Planner to join their growing team. This is a key role supporting the delivery of high-profile projects across Central London, working with an established and respected contractor known for quality, repeat clients, and complex city-centre schemes.
As Senior Construction Planner, you will play a pivotal role in both pre-construction and live project delivery, working closely with project teams to develop, manage, and communicate robust construction programmes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing detailed construction programmes from tender through to completion
- Managing and updating live project programmes, including progress reporting and change management
- Supporting bid teams with tender planning, methodology, and sequencing
- Working collaboratively with project managers, commercial teams, and site teams
- Identifying programme risks and opportunities and proposing mitigation strategies
- Providing clear programme narratives and progress reports to internal stakeholders and clients
About You
- Proven experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within a main contracting environment
- Strong background in commercial refurbishment and fit out projects, ideally in Central London
- Excellent working knowledge of planning software (Asta Powerproject essential)
- Confident communicator with the ability to challenge and influence project teams
- Strong understanding of construction methodology, logistics, and phasing in constrained urban environments
- Organised, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach
